The Dragon - Bedford

The Dragon Bedford - Cinese Tapas resturant and Bar The Dragon is a Chinese restaurant in Bedford. They wanted to replace their outdated web site which no longer met their requirements.

The new site was required to promote their Fine Dining and separate Tapas and Take-Away menus, the function rooms and special offers. This is a very busy site and usability needed to be retained and balanced with the content.

Long Haired Jewels

www.longhairedjewels.com a website for hairsticks and hair fascinators Long Haired Jewels is a small home based business supplying hair accessories.

A major requirement was the ability to expand icon images to display a good quality larger image together with a full description of the items. The client specified using Pay Pal as their preferred method of payments.

Feline Cat Rescue

Feline Cat Rescue; rescuing and rehoming cats in Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Feline Cat Rescue is a local charity dedicated to the welfare, rescue and re-homing of cats.

Their existing site was outdated and required substantial amendments to cope with their changing requirements.

The opportunity was taken to redesign the site and at the same time move the hosting to my lower cost servers.

Nyabingi

Nyabingi.org, charity working for the mental health of African and Afro-Carribean peoples Nyabingi is a mental health and community self help charity. They needed to re-design the web site to reflect their expanding role within the community. The client realised the construction of the site did not allow for their expanded role, in line with the 'Big Society'. Their remit was to retain the 'comfortable' feel of the old site, be user friendly, particularly to their less advantaged or able clients, and to allow for continued expansion of their role within the community.

The White Horse

WhiteHorse southill The White Horse needed a new site to replace their tired and unremarkable old offering. The original concept was for a flash heavy design, however following discussions regarding SEO requirements the flash was toned down to complement the site by having a rolling image sequence on the index page. The site now has a good ranking on the search engines.

The Rajkot

Rajkot Indian Tapas - Bedford The Rajkot's existing site had been built with an "drag'n'drop" package. The site was looking tired and needed a facelift. The client wished to largely retain the original layout. It was more cost-effective to rewrite the entire site.

May Day 4 U

MayDay4U, non-profit organisation for approved and reliable tradesmen in the Bedfordshire area May Day 4 You is a not-for-profit handy-man site focusing on the elderly and disabled within the community. The requirement was for a clean and simple site based on an assumption that many who would use their services would not be computer literate.

Bedford on the Web

Bedford on the web - whats on in and around Bedfordshire Bedford on the Web was originally written in Jumla but did not fulfil its potential. The requirement was for a more attractive and cleaner site that was user friendly, easily expandable and attractive. Flash was used as an enhancement in the form of rollovers.

Ali's Indian Cuisine

Ali's Indian cuisine - Indian restaurant in Bedford Ali's Indian Cuisine had originally been created by a keen amateur using a freebie package. The remit was to rebuild the site and making it more search engine friendly whilst retaining the original visual appeal.

Boustreds Solicitors

Boustreds Solicitors Boustreds Solicitors was a long established local firm who wished to establish a web presence. The design was based on their existing literature to provide a recognisable brand and also retain a local and 'approachable' feel rather than the more usual corporate look favored by many such firms.

Cottage Farm Nurseries

Cottage Farm Nurseries icon image This site had been partially built when I was asked to complete and expand it after the clients original designer had abandoned them. Flash has again been used to enhance but not dominate the site by having a rolling image on each page instead of a single gallery page.
