Case History

This case history is selected as being a typical example of how we work. It was atypical in that all correspondence was undertaken by e-mail; however this is now becoming the normal way of operation and face to face meetings with clients are less of a requirement.

standard website options Boustred and Sons is a solicitors operating in Highgate in North London. Having seen examples of our work for other solicitors they e-mailed Bizzywebs-Design for a quote to design and build a web site.

Our quote was accepted, their reply included a brief for the site that referenced several web sites whose style they liked and a copy of theirRequest a bespoke quotation promotional materiel.

The promotional materiel included a painting of their offices which it was felt captured their essence of a traditional firm of Solicitors with roots in the community. Less stark than a photograph it softened the appearance to enhance their approachability.

Having designed the basic site structure, several mockups of a front page and inner page were created. 2 mock ups used 3 column CSS frameworks, the third used 2 columns. The main image was optimised using Adobe Fireworks, masked to round the corners. One was overlaid with a 50% alpha transparency to use as a static background, one with just 2 corners rounded and the third used a vertical eclipse mask. Various button and link combinations were tried as were various type faces.

Based on the premise that it is easier to appraise a concept seen on the screen, the options were uploaded to the client area of the Bizzywebs-Design web site. and Boustreds were invited to comment. The chosen design was amended inline with the clients requirements. Several iterations of this process were completed before the client were satisfied with the outcome.

The site was now completed and uploaded to the client area of the Bizzywebs-Design web site. and Boustreds invited to approve their new site. At all stages in the development process reference is made to the W3C evaluation site to ensure compatability with their required standards. As a final change the W3C tick logo is added to the site which was then uploaded to Boustreds web space.
